GEO in Chinese: choose the script and check the local offer
Decide which customers a Chinese page will serve before choosing Simplified or Traditional characters. The writing system alone does not identify the market. You also need to adapt terminology and verify the payment methods, availability and support offered to those customers.
Start with the customer you can serve. For a software product, explain the available features, billing currency, payment methods and support hours. Check that linked documentation and the signup process match the claims on the Chinese page.
Review terminology and conditions together
Use vocabulary familiar to the intended audience and have the text reviewed in that context. Preserve product names and interface labels where changing them would confuse the user. Short, specific explanations are usually more helpful than a literal translation of English promotional language.
If you maintain both Simplified and Traditional versions, give each a stable URL and ask your developer to check the appropriate annotations, such as zh-Hans and zh-Hant. The switcher should open the equivalent service. Only publish versions your team can keep accurate.
Test the form, then check AI answers
Test punctuation, line wrapping, text copying, forms and confirmation messages. Ask someone to request a quote or complete registration using the page. Note every point where they need untranslated information.
Use services available to your intended audience and test the questions they ask. Save the language, location, service and cited pages. Check whether the cited terms apply to that customer, even when the source is in another language. A clear Chinese page does not guarantee that every service can access it or will cite it within a fixed period.
